Sandwich hand jobs in a Brisbane bakery kitchen

The day starts early on the sandwich bench, and every sandwich goes out made by hand from our Fortitude Valley kitchen. We're after someone reliable to take on the morning sandwiches and the prep behind them, in a team that gets on. Good hours, good people. Here's what it involves.

The platters you'd be building

Everything that goes out the door is made right here in the Valley kitchen, by hand, six mornings a week. It's close, quick work with the same people either side of you, which is why we care as much about how you get on with the team as what you can do on the bench.

The role

Sandwich hand, also called a sandwich artist. You'd be on the bench of a morning, making the day's sandwiches and doing the prep behind them. Full time, part time and casual are all on the table, and the form asks which one you're after.

What you'd be doing

  • Making a range of sandwiches, including for dietary requirements
  • Preparing sandwich fillings and sauces
  • Checking stock levels and keeping stock rotated
  • Washing up and following the daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Following all health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation
  • Working as part of the team to reach the team's goals

What we're after

  • Someone reliable and enthusiastic about the work
  • Happy with an early morning start, and available on Saturdays
  • A good understanding of dietary restrictions and why they matter
  • Tidy in your presentation and easy to work alongside
  • Experience is welcome but not essential — the form takes anything from none through to more than three years

Hours and where you'd be

Everything happens at 159 Knapp St, Fortitude Valley 4006, where the kitchen runs Monday to Saturday, 7.00am to 2.00pm. It's an early morning start, and Saturdays are part of the week.

Fill in the form on this page. Here's what it asks for:

Take your time on that last one, then send it through and we'll get back to you.
